Reolink D340B, 4MP WiFi batterijdeurbel zwart, met Chime en 64GB microSD kaart

Great doorbell! My main requirements were local storage (no cloud subscriptions), motion recording, an automatic response feature, not having to worry about charging or batteries and a reasonable price. It is much cheaper than competitors, and overall, I am happy with it. Not wanting anything stored on the cloud made this a great option. The downside is that the memory card stays inside the unit (so if someone steals the doorbell, you lose the footage) but our area is safe, so that isn't a major concern for me. It has a massive battery and can also be connected to a power supply, which I did after charging it fully. However, you have to be careful with the settings: when I turned motion sensitivity all the way up, it recorded everything, consuming more power than the wired connection could supply and draining the battery. Tweaking the settings back down solved the issue. The viewing angle and width are great. You easily see all sides, so a single camera does a great job. The video quality is okay. As long as there is no direct sunlight, recordings are sharp and faces are clearly visible. In direct sunlight, faces turn dark (probably because the HDR is trying too hard), but they still remain identifiable. It lights up when motion is detected, and you can choose between different colors. This makes it easily visible in the dark and alerts visitors that they are being recorded. The app offers good options and features, like customizable no-detection zones. I did have to check a few things online to understand the app better. Notifications are quick, and if your phone has a good internet connection, the live stream loads within 2–3 seconds. However, if your phone’s connection isn't stable, it won't load. Occasionally, it fails to load even on a stable connection for reasons I haven't figured out yet. If it gets stuck, you have to wait over 5 minutes before trying again. As of now, about 1 out of 20 times, it got stuck. I was recently traveling and was generally happy with the motion recordings, but it does have some quirks: AI Recording Lengths: You can set fixed recording lengths or let AI decide. The AI is a bit strange (sometimes recording for 4 minutes straight without continuous motion, and other times for only 9 seconds or shorter). Missed Events: Yesterday, my wife and I entered the house multiple times within 5–10 minutes. Out of curiosity, I checked the recordings, and my wife didn't appear in a single one, which was strange. I think because it was because I have set it up to start to record after 5 seconds of detecting motion. Auto-Response: You can set up an automatic message after a set period (like my setup: "Please record your message here" after 15 seconds). It is very helpful when you aren't home, but the quirk is that the message plays regardless (even if you've already opened the door and are talking to the visitor). Of ocurse, if someone rings the doorbell and you get notification on the phone, you can choose to play a message at that time as well. But for me, I am not always checking the phone, so I have the message set up anytime somoene rings the bell. The chime is loud enough, and the size of the unit is fine. Overall, despite a few quirks, it delivers on the main features I wanted at a great price.

Hoewel ik onlangs een compleet nieuwe meterkast heb laten installeren, ABB busboard systeem, zit er nog een vrij oude beltrafo in. Deze levert 8 VAC met 1A. Een deurbel vinden die hier goed mee werkt, valt niet mee! De Ring van Microsoft, de Tapo D235 en deze Reolink D340B (dus met accu erin) zou volgens de diverse reviews moeten werken met mijn beltrafo. De Ring werkt alleen met een abonnement, de Tapo vind ik veel te groot en deze Reolink bleef over. De installatie ging vrij eenvoudig en daarna stiekem toch gespannen of het allemaal goed zou werken. De accu was uit de doos 34%, maar na een dag laden was die zelfs iets gezakt. Dat zag er niet hoopvol uit! De volgende dag veel zitten puzzelen met de diverse settings in de app, maar alleen als ik de optie 'eco' koos leek het te werken. Echter gebruik je de deurbel alleen als gewone deurbel, niet als beveiligingscamera. Dat was zeker niet mijn doel. Ik merkte op dat er software upgrade klaarstond, na de update kon je gelukkig diverse batterij standen kiezen, een slimme energie stand. Dat lijkt zeker effect te hebben, de accu is inmiddels geladen naar 93% al moet je veel geduld hebben. De beelden zijn goed (en scherp) en het geluid is verrassend goed. De reactie tijd op je telefoon, na het indrukken van de deurbel, is wisselend. De ene keer zie ik meteen een inkomende oproep als ik de chime hoor afgaan. Maar soms komt de inkomende oproep of pas 15 seconden later en in sommige gevallen komt die helemaal niet! Das wel erg vervelend. De app is erg uitgebreid, soms wat lastig te vinden in de diverse menu's. De app is vrij traag, al lijkt dat op iOS een stuk beter te zijn dan op Android. Al met al een aardige deurbel, die overigens zeker niet goedkoop was (159 euro met chime en SD kaart). Nog wel even afwachten op de winter, in het boekje staat dat het laad circuit ermee stopt onder de 4 graden Celsius.
